Addison’s Disease (Adrenal Insufficiency

ENDOCRINOLOGY → Diabetes Mellitus
In all cases of diabetes, if current blood specimen results are favorable, or results are not known, order an IBU. If there are significant abnormalities on the blood profile, order an APS if the following are disclosed:

- Insulin-Dependent Diabetes
- Non-insulin dependent diabetes diagnosd in the past 6 months requiring treatment with medication
- Known retinopathy, proteinuria, hematuria or neuropathy
- Known significant cardiovascular risk profile or PVD history
